SUMMERSIDE, PE - Summerside Police Services is pleased to announce the appointment of Station Sergeant Dale Corish to the rank of Deputy Chief of Police.
Deputy Chief Corish is a graduate of Squad 62 of the Atlantic Police Academy, completing his training in 1995. He brings with him 29 years of dedicated service to the Summerside Police Services, where he has held a wide range of operational and leadership roles.
“Dale's professional record speaks for itself,” said Acting Chief Administrative Officer JP DesRosiers. “He has demonstrated unwavering commitment to public safety and has earned the trust of both his colleagues and the community. We are fortunate to have someone of his caliber stepping into this critical leadership role. I look forward to continuing to work with Deputy Corish in his new capacity. His leadership, experience, and integrity will serve our organization and our city well.”
Corish began his career as a patrol constable, before joining the Prince District Joint Forces Drug Section. In 2013, he was promoted to Corporal, returning to General Patrol as a platoon supervisor and later serving in the Major Crime Unit. He was then appointed Acting Sergeant in Charge of Major Crime and officially promoted to Sergeant in 2023, most recently serving as Station Sergeant.
He also holds an Honours Degree in Psychology from St. Mary’s University and has completed advanced policing courses through the Atlantic Police Academy and the Canadian Police College.

Deputy Chief Corish assumes his new responsibilities immediately and will play a key role in supporting the continued advancement and modernization of policing in the City of Summerside.
