SUMMERSIDE, PE - After 19 years of dedicated service to the City of Summerside, Gordon MacFarlane, Chief Administrative Officer, has given notice to City Council of his resignation. MacFarlane has been appointed Commissioner to the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission.
“Gordon has been a highly respected leader and a key contributor to our organization, serving first as Director of Human Resources and Legal Affairs, then as Deputy Chief Administrative Officer, and ultimately as Chief Administrative Officer. His unwavering commitment and leadership have left a lasting and meaningful impact on the City and the community we serve”, said Mayor Dan Kutcher.
We are sincerely grateful for Gordon’s years of service, expertise, and dedication. As he embarks on this new chapter, we extend our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for continued success and fulfillment.
MacFarlane will continue in his role of CAO until March 2025 at which time he will transition to his new role and JP Desrosiers will assume the role as Acting CAO.
