Posted on 10/14/2026

SUMMERSIDE, PE – The City of Summerside is proud to announce a new three-year partnership with Kildare Fisheries Ltd., extending the company’s role as presenting sponsor of three upcoming Baseball Canada national championships set to take place at Queen Elizabeth Park in Summerside.

The agreement will see Kildare Fisheries Ltd. continue as presenting sponsor of the 2027 Baseball Canada Cup (17U Nationals), taking place August 4–8, 2027, as well as the 2028 and 2029 18U Baseball Canada National Championships, scheduled for August 17–20, 2028, and August 16–19, 2029, respectively.
The three-year extension builds on a successful partnership that saw Kildare Fisheries Ltd. serve as title sponsor of the 2025 and 2026 Ray Carter Cups (15U), as well as the 2026 Baseball Canada Cup (17U). These championships brought some of the country’s top young baseball talent to Summerside, welcoming athletes, coaches, families and fans from across Canada and further strengthening the City’s reputation as a premier destination for national baseball events.
“We’re thrilled to see Kildare Fisheries Ltd. extend its partnership with the City of Summerside for another three years,” said Deputy Mayor Cory Snow. “Their continued support is instrumental in bringing premier national baseball championships to our community, showcasing Summerside to visitors from across the country and creating lasting economic and community benefits. This long-term partnership reflects a shared commitment to growing the game of baseball and continuing to make Summerside a destination for major sporting events.”
The partnership builds on the success of previous Baseball Canada national championships hosted in Summerside and reinforces the City’s commitment to sport tourism and hosting high-calibre sporting events. With three more national championships on the horizon, Summerside will continue to welcome some of the country’s top young baseball talent, along with coaches, families, scouts and fans from across Canada.
“Kildare Fisheries is proud to continue our partnership with the City of Summerside and support these national baseball championships for the next three years,” said Collin Rayner, Manager of Kildare Fisheries Ltd. “As a family-run business rooted in Western PEI, we believe in investing in our communities and creating opportunities for young athletes. We’re excited to be part of bringing these events back to Summerside and welcoming players, families and fans from across Canada to experience everything our community and province have to offer.”
The Baseball Canada Cup and 18U Baseball Canada National Championships provide an opportunity to showcase the next generation of Canadian baseball talent, while delivering significant benefits to the local economy. Visitors attending these events contribute to Summerside’s hospitality, retail and tourism sectors, while helping strengthen the community’s reputation as a destination for major sporting events.
The City of Summerside and Kildare Fisheries Ltd. look forward to continuing their partnership and welcoming athletes, families and baseball fans to Queen Elizabeth Park in the summers of 2027, 2028 and 2029.
