SUMMERSIDE, PE - After successfully hosting a year ago, the City of Summerside is proud to announce its return as presenting partner for the 2027 Music PEI Awards Gala, which will be held on Saturday, March 6 at 7:00 PM in the Scott MacAulay Performing Arts Centre at the College of Piping.
This will be Summerside’s third time hosting the Awards Gala in total, having also hosted the inaugural event in 2001.
The Awards Gala is the flagship event of Music PEI Week 2027, which will run from February 28 to March 6, including concerts and special events across Prince Edward Island.
"We're excited to have Music PEI host its Awards Gala in Summerside once again," said Deputy Mayor Cory Snow. "Music is a vital part of our community's foundation, and Summerside remains steadfast in its support of Island artists. We look forward to strengthening our partnership with Music PEI while highlighting the musical talent in Summerside and Prince Edward Island as a whole."
Music PEI Week 2026 generated over $66,000 in direct spending across Island artists, arts workers and businesses, with over $39,000 of that total going to Island musicians, visual artists, and other arts community members.
“We had such a great time in Summerside last year that we’re coming back for more,” said Andy Glydon, Executive Director of Music PEI. “The Music PEI Awards Gala is our chance to get together and celebrate the artists, musicians, and industry professionals who make PEI stand out. A big thank you to the City of Summerside for welcoming us back and helping us put on a night worthy of all that talent.”
Hosting Music PEI Week events in Summerside will not only provide a unique cultural experience for residents but will also attract visitors, stimulate local business, and reinforce the city’s reputation as a leader in arts and culture. In addition to the Awards Gala, there will be other activities taking place throughout Summerside throughout Music PEI Week 27, including an afterparty following the Awards Gala.
More programming information will be released as plans are finalized.
